Electronic Signature
Dictate, correct and sign off reports anywhere with MD Center-XL
MD Center-XL is an integrated application that allows Authors to dictate, play voice files, review and sign off reports from one single interface.
Mission
To simplify the documentation creation process for Authors.
Integrated report index
When logging on MD Center-XL, Authors are presented with their personalized list of dictations and pending reports. Information such as Subject Name and ID, Facility name, Job number, Transcriptionist ID, and dictating Author are always readily available.
When selecting a report, Authors can play the associated dictation at any time using the Crescendo VoiceBar. They can also choose to display unsigned reports only so that they know exactly what remains to be reviewed and signed off.
Dictation
Authors can dictate using their preferred digital input device. Voice files can then be played, edited, assigned different priority levels and sent to the voice recognition server or Transcriptionist.
Correction - with voice recognition
For organizations equipped with the Crescendo Speech Recognition solution, MD Center-XL can be used as a correction module for authors. This is best suited for environments such as Radiology, Pathology and Emergency Medicine, where reports are relatively short and usually "normal" (negative findings) and experienced medical Transcriptionists are more and more difficult to find.
When a report is returned from the speech recognition server, Authors can:
- Review the report
- Perform synchronized playback
- Make corrections as needed
- Return it to the Transcriptionist as per specific routing criteria in case major re-work is required
Once the report signed off, the system automatically sends a copy to the adaptation server for improvement in the recognition rate.
Correction - without voice recognition
For Facilties not equipped with voice recognition yet, the process is similar, except that reports are not sent to and returned from a recognition server but from a Transcriptionist. Authors can:
- Choose the report from the pick list
- Scroll through the report in order to review it
- Make corrections
- Play the original voice file at any time during report review
- Re-dictate the report
- Send the report back to the Transcriptionist with optional notes
Unclear dictation marks may be inserted into the report to draw the Author's attention to areas that could not be understood by the Transcriptionist. Authors must remove the unclear mark before they can sign off a report.
Sign off
Individual Sign off
When the review is complete, a secure authentication code must be entered. The report is then marked with an "Electronically Authenticated" status and is removed from the Author's list of Pending Reports. When the report is signed off, a predefined signature block as well as a time and date stamp is applied. The report is then blocked off and no further changes can be made.
Batch and Group Sign off
Batch sign off is offered for those Authors who do not wish to key in their code after each report. The co-sign option can be used in those situations where more than one Author may need to verify a report before final distribution, which can be extremely useful in teaching or training environments. Group signature enables Authors belonging to the same group to sign off reports for each other.
From an IT Manager perspective
Audit Trail
For follow-up and security reasons, an audit trail is provided to track information such as who accessed which report at what time, as well as which functions were performed. In addition, the system administrator is provided with a number of reports from the MedRite-XL system for management purposes, such as turnaround time analysis.
Access and Privileges
Each Author can be assigned different privileges by the system's administrator, thereby denying access to a certain Author's reports or a specific Facility or Work Type.

- Oversee the entire documentation workflow from one single interface
- Optimal security
- Accelerate report turnaround
- Tens of thousands physicians use MD Center-XL to sign off reports daily
