Another Large Crescendo Installation Underway in Australian Healthcare
Westmead Hospital Radiology rolls out DigiScribe-XL to 115 users
Sydney, Australia - March 3, 2008 - Crescendo and Lanier Voice announced today that the Radiology Department of Westmead Hospital, a 975-bed healthcare facility that serves the western metropolitan area of Sydney, Australia, has deployed a DigiScribe-XL digital dictation and transcription system to 100 radiologists and 15 medical secretaries.
The hospital's Radiology department had selected DigiScribe-XL in 2007 to replace their old telephone dictation equipment and facilitate remote dictation for radiologists working from the Auburn Hospital. As expected, the new system offers a reliable platform that streamlines the reporting workflow while providing radiologists with an intuitive, PC-based dictation interface. Radiologists no longer depend on the telephone network performance to complete their dictations, thereby resulting in increased productivity.
The roll-out of DigiScribe-XL also had a positive impact in terms of productivity for the secretarial staff, who are now enjoying crystal-clear sound quality. On the workflow management side, the department's ability to automate the routing of voice files using any criteria has contributed to streamlining the entire documentation cycle. Thanks to the extensive storage, audit and reporting features offered by DigiScribe-XL, the department was even able to import voice files from their Lanier system. "This additional functionality, coupled with the system's overall ease-of-use, translated in immediate user adoption and early efficiency gains," explains Duncan Burnett, National Product and Technical Manager, Lanier Voice.
Costa Mandilaras, President, Crescendo Systems Corp. commented: "This new project is another vote of confidence in both Crescendo's best-of-breed technology and Lanier Voice's ability to deliver top-notch implementation and support services to multi-facility healthcare groups. We look forward to supporting Westmead Radiology in their upcoming transition to speech recognition and PACS integration."
