Prexus Health Partners roll-out Crescendo dictation-transcription

Laval, 27 July, 2007 - Crescendo announced today that Ohio healthcare group Prexus Health Partners is entering the final phase of implementation of its integrated digital dictation and transcription system. The new system, selected in Spring 2006 will allow the group to centralize the management of all health records while making up-to-date patient information available across the group's 12 Ambulatory Surgery Centers, Imaging Centers, Surgical Hospitals and Imaging partners.

The integrated DigiScribe-XL and MedRite-IP platform takes transparent care of the entire documentation process, from voice input and the routing of dictation/transcription jobs to the distribution of final reports to the right recipients in the proper format (i.e.: HL7, Word, ASCII, print, e-mail, fax). All 125 physicians are able to dictate over the phone thanks to the DigiScribe-XL Call-in module. Completed voice files are then streamed over to the network for the group's offshore transcriptionists to process using MedRite-IP, Crescendo's medical transcription application renowned for offering a wealth of productivity tools in a Microsoft^® Word environment.

Remote transcription support was one of the key drives behind the selection of Crescendo, with the Crescendo Wide Area Service managing voice files and reports centrally for faster processing and confidentiality reasons. This unique IP-based gateway allows Prexus' offshore staff to play voice in real-time just as if they were located in the US.

Once a report has been typed, physicians have access to the Crescendo electronic signature module MD Center-XL, which allows them to securely review and sign-off reports from any connected PC.
