Crescendo and Plus Technologies secure the delivery of medical reports to the point-of-care
Laval, QUEBEC - December 9, 2005 - Crescendo Systems Corporation and Plus Technologies today announced a technology partnership to allow healthcare facilities to improve the operation and the reliability of their document printing processes. Healthcare facilities issue huge amounts of medical reports every year and the timely delivery of print copies to the appropriate staff has always been a challenge, with issues such as document loss, late delivery or delivery failures putting the quality of healthcare at risk. "Printing can be an inexact science and print jobs do get lost in the printing process occasionally." explains Bob Van Leeuwen, Plus Technologies Marketing Manager. "The integration between MedRouter from Crescendo and OM Plus from Plus Technologies finally puts an end to such issues."
No need to wonder whether reports "hit the tray" anymore
MedRouter from Crescendo is an advanced report distribution module that automatically supervises the import, export and delivery of transcribed medical reports by fax, e-mail or print. As for the printing process, MedRouter sends data to the OM Plus advanced print spooler instead of directly liaising with the O/S. OM Plus then provides "assured delivery" of the print job to the printer's output tray, bundles and collates print jobs and provides print queue management together with a wide variety of other advanced document delivery and printer management functions. " Assured delivery is an important value added capability for the MedRouter application. Patient safety is greatly enhanced when OM Plus assures that the report actually gets printed so it can get filed properly in the patient's file for future reference." says Costa Mandilaras, President, Crescendo Systems Corporation.
End-to-end document workflow management
Transparently integrated within MedRouter, OMPlus is offered as an optional module for Crescendo customers, allowing them to confidently and transparently manage all aspects of the document output delivery process, from import, export and routing to delivery confirmation.
