Quebec City's Robert-Giffard Hospital Center selects digital dictation solution from Crescendo

Forthcoming productivity boost for Quebec's first psychiatric hospital

Laval, June 19, 2007 - Crescendo Systems Corporation announced today that the Robert-Giffard Hospital Center, a center of excellence in psychiatry founded in 1845 and now affiliated with Laval University, has opted for the Crescendo technology following a tender process in March. The hospital center's new central digital dictation system will be fully operational by the end of June 2007.

Overall, 16 phone accesses along with the DigiScribe-XL management console will enable physicians to dictate their reports over the phone. Thanks to the voice-streaming technology provided by the Crescendo Wide Area Service, reports will be sent to medical transcriptionists in real-time, for an optimal documentation workflow. Furthermore, DigiPlayer-IP, Crescendo's specialized transcription software, will allow medical transcriptionists to transcribe reports directly on their PCs without having to use any cumbersome external devices.

The Crescendo Wide Area Service will also ensure optimal security, in compliance with the strictest PIPEDA confidentiality requirements (no duplication of file, no file is ever stored on local PCs, etc.).
