Lowther Medical Center Sees Immediate Efficiency Advantages with Crescendo
Lowther Medical Centre, in Whitehaven, Cumbria gains immediate efficiency advances with Crescendo’s Digital Dictation solutions. Following a short and very successful pilot, Practice Manager, Gill Davidson, gladly took the time to provide us with some feedback on how the system was installed, accepted and is now working well to provide increased efficiency within her practice.
- Why did you select Crescendo for your digital dictation needs?
The presentation that we had was delivered very professionally, and we were given estimates for various options in order to ensure that we received the greatest value for our money.
- What has digital dictation done for your practice?
The dictation and typing is now done much more efficiently. The doctors have the reassurance of knowing that their work can be done in chronological order. The software automatically brings urgent letters to the top of the list, so that priority can be given to these items appropriately. With the old system, the secretaries were not always aware that there was an urgent letter to do until they came across it in the middle of the tape. From a medico-legal and governance point of view, this has been a great improvement.
- How do your users feel about the new system?
The secretaries like it because the voice quality is so much clearer than on the old system. They can also both work through the same doctor’s dictations list at the same time, so don’t feel they are always stuck with the doctors that are more difficult to understand. The doctors like it because the system is reliable, and they know that priority is given to urgent items. This did take them a little while to accept, but they now have full confidence in the system and would not wish to revert back. From the management side, the DigiConsole workflow monitor is excellent as it shows the overall picture. You can tell if work is backing up, so we can ask others to take over some of the work when the secretarial team has finished for the day. You can also monitor efficiency within the team, obtaining reports on throughput, etc. with ease.
- How do you feel the support and services have been?
Excellent!! Any issues have been resolved very promptly. Everyone has been extremely professional and able to talk us through the steps required to remedy problems over the phone.
It’s the best IT-related Helpline that I’ve had to deal with!
- Would you recommend Crescendo to other practices?
Yes. Without hesitation!!
