Crescendo Systems revamps desktop and mobile dictation with Centro and DigiDictate-Mobile

Crescendo designed its “patient centric” applications by focusing on the existing workflow of physicians and the demands of the new age.

Montreal, QC, Canada – March 19th 2009 - Crescendo Systems specifically tailored its new products to grow with the ever-changing requirements of physicians. Centro helps simplify physicians’ workflows by putting them back in control of their dictation with an easy and intuitive application. In addition, DigiDictate-Mobile guarantees that mobility does not have to mean restricted dictation.

The key to Centro, our new desktop dictation application, is its patient centric interface.” says Costa Mandilaras, President of Crescendo Systems Corporation. “It allows physicians to see all the patients currently admitted in a ward or scheduled to be seen in a clinic. Based on the patient location, the physician can then immediately start charting the patient care via dictation, keyboard and handwriting, or simply browse and update the patient’s files and all historical data effortlessly.

By using the power of speech processing, the charting workflow is facilitated through sections of speech, which are then assembled into the final report using Crescendo’s platform. Furthermore, notes can be charted on anatomical diagrams, making Centro the most robust charting workspace available today.

Crescendo’s DigiDictate-Mobile for Smart Phones, which supports Windows Mobile OS and BlackBerry™, addresses the 24/7 need for physicians to access dictation and patient data. DigiDictate-Mobile is equipped with one of the most user-friendly navigation systems, which incorporates the latest in touch screen technology. Remote access to data results in constant updates and progress of work, thus providing the physician with a “to-do” list of patients that need to be dictated on. Completed or suspended dictations are also readily available.

The large, easy-to-use dictation controls offer the same comfort as the slide switch recording system. Likewise, data transmissions are based on user configurations, although all modes are supported. In addition, dictations that are transferred to the main digital dictation system have a high quality voice format which is suitable for back-end voice recognition. Fundamentally, there is no more suitable application than DigiDictate-Mobile for bedside or borderless dictation.

Crescendo Systems will be exhibiting at the upcoming HIMSS at the McCormick Place in Chicago, IL, April 4 – 9, 2009. Please visit www.Crescendo.com and schedule a demonstration at booth #6848.
