Crescendo Systems starts offering Philips' new USB Hand Control as a direct replacement for the traditional foot pedal typically used by transcriptionists.

Sunbury-on-Thames, UK – November 17th 2008 - Crescendo Systems announces the availability of a new extension for transcriptionists. Philips' USB Hand Control LFH2305, a direct replacement for the traditional foot pedal, is specifically tailored after modern ergonomics to be more comfortable in a seated position.

“The new Hand Control offers the same user-friendliness as legacy foot controls and acts as an easy plug-and-play replacement” says Costa Mandilaras, president of Crescendo Systems Corp. “In specific cases, the ergonomics of a foot control didn't make sense or didn't feel comfortable after an extended use. Philips' Hand Control addresses this situation by offering an easy-to-use product with the same renowned quality and features.”

It has been scientifically proven that there can be health risks if a person is sat down for the whole day. Back pain is a common ailment, and is often a result of neglecting back muscles and incorrect postures. Occupational physicians recommend that the day-to-day working position should be split divided 60% seated, 30% standing and 10% moving. This requires a flexible design of the office furniture, for e.g, height-adjustable work desks which are used more frequently in modern offices.

As a result, to support the new dynamic work behaviour, Philips have developed the new Philips Hand Control 2305 as a more comfortable alternative to the foot control.

Secured with anti-slip pads, Philips' LFH2305 can be placed in front of the keyboard, in combination with the hand rest or with a rubber mat attached to the hand rest. The new transcription accessory also features start, stop, fast rewind and fast forward controls at a hand's reach.
