Thin-client architecture

Easy administration, no more cost overruns

Thin client infrastructures allow for the deployment of software applications from a central server, making them particularly attractive to organizations in the legal and medical industry. They reduce the need for cost-intensive, powerful workstations, saving financial resources and increasing data security, as all files are stored in the central system. Users can even access their thin-client dictation solution through the Internet, increasing their productivity and data security while on the move. High efficiency and productivity gains guaranteed.

Crescendo delivered to Citrix Users

Citrix® users can now record dictation seamlessly using modern dictation devices. Dictation files are streamed directly to the server, where they are converted to text by the speech recognition engine. Depending on a user's preferred workflow, the recognized text is returned to the workstation in real-time, allowing the Author to edit and sign it off. Alternatively, the text can be accessed by a Transcriptionist for editing and finalization.

Crescendo applications on the Citrix server can either be started from the workstation as a desktop application or through a web browser - a practical feature when traveling. Remote employees can also access the digital dictation and speech recognition system from outside the office. Since no application files are stored on the client machine, IT administrators can easily manage the system on the central server without having to involve the end user.

The Crescendo product suite supports the Citrix Presentation ServerTM 3.0 and later and thin client terminals such as Wyse Windows Terminals. Delays during dictation playback and the operation of dictation hardware caused by data having to be transferred from the client to the server are eliminated, thereby ensuring efficient transcription and correction.
