Unified Charting System

Centro is Crescendo’s new Unified Charting System. It is an all encompassing charting workspace that allows physicians facility-wide a method to create and manage their documents in the most advanced way possible.

FLEXIBLE INPUT. Centro puts physicians back in control of their dictations. It allows them to decide what input will be used, from microphone dictation to voice recognition or a combination of these methods. Furthermore, by integrating with advancing technologies such as electronic handwriting, Centro permits physicians to actually write their notes in electronic form, chart on anatomical images or simply click the answers to questions that appear in forms.

PATIENT CENTRIC. By interfacing with the Hospital’s Interface System, physicians are presented with a “to-do” list of patients that have been scheduled for an appointment or that are currently admitted to an area in the hospital that the physician is responsible for. This list is completely configurable ensuring that physicians receive the most important information instantly, such as room location and bed number, thus simplifying the user experience and supporting bedside charting dictation.

ELECTRONIC FILE. Completed reports are broken down by Visit Date and reason for visit, meaning that physicians have fingertip information and access to a patient’s previous history. These reports are accessible when creating a new report; a dual folder view allows for physicians to refer to previous reports while creating new ones. Physicians can in addition search for documentation created by other physicians. In essence, the group of Centro documents forms an electronic patient file.

DICTATION CONTROL. Reports are broken down into logical configurable sections, which are commonly found in medical reports, that can be filled in by any input. Normals can even be used to expedite report creation. Sections can be automatically filled in based on previous reports or patient history. For example, the information in a section titled Allergies can be carried throughout the document life cycle from Initial Note, to Progress Note, to Surgical Note, and finally to Discharge.

DECISION SUPPORT. Online medical resources help physicians efficiently find answers to pressing clinical questions, diagnoses, or medications while dictating or reviewing reports. Centro integrates with these search tools to ensure that physicians do not need exit the application to find the information they need.

FINAL OUTPUT. The sections of the report are assembled in the background into a final report, containing all formatting including logos, headers, and footers. The physician can essentially view the compiled document and make corrections before electronically authenticating the report. The physician can then begin the dictation cycle over again. Charting patient care via dictation, handwriting and keyboard has never been this easy and productive. Centro is without a doubt the most robust charting workspace available today!
